Absco Sheds is the market leader in Australia, as its innovative designs and range of products come with a lifetime warranty, and feature a unique patented technology (an “Easy to Assemble System”) that reduces the need for fasteners by 75% and reduces assembly time by up to 80%. This also makes the shed easier to assemble, and improves the strength and rigidity of the shed.
The Absco Sheds Assembly App is a shed installer in the pocket to help customers get their Shed, Chicken Coop, Garage, Patio Cover or Carport set up right!
Users can use the App as a step-by-step guide, and access assembly videos and tips and tricks, view the range, and download instruction manuals and guides.
Key Features
- Absco provides colour options for storage. Users can see videos of storage solutions in different colours.
- The App provides a Digital parts-checklist. In the rare case that any parts are missing, the user can inform Absco by filling a form in the App, and Customer service will contact them.
- Instruction manuals can be downloaded, and there are step-by-step assembly videos for the user, for self-installation of the storage solution.
- Users can directly chat with Absco on Facebook Messenger via the Chat option.
- 3D Augmented Reality for users to view a Shed in their backyard.
- The App is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch languages.
- The App offers Council forms and Warranty Registration also.

Challenges

Solution
- Our iOS developers used a Lightweight helper library to add inline playback of YouTube videos through a WebView. We integrated it in the App to play video in the App.
- We used third-party Localize-Swift which improves localization in Swift iOS apps, providing cleaner syntax and in-app language switching.
